8th-Jul-2009 02:27 pm - house problems
the insurance adjuster people came this morning.

we hired private claims adjusters, so they were there as well as the guy from the insurance company. did a good once over of all the damage, measured everything, took some photos... of course cuz it was 3 guys and chris, they had to talk about sports the whole time. can't guys talk about anything else? LOL the one guy was asking me about my tattoos cuz he has some too... he's a scuba diver so he had some big eel thing on his arm, it was kinda cool. :P

we won't hear for about a week-10 days what they will pay to cover the damage. I hope it is enough so that we don't have to pay for too much.

Honestly, they will be ripping out the whole kitchen floor and kitchen cabinets, so we will take this opportunity to get the floors done on the whole first floor (its only like 550 sq ft, not large). Same deal for the bathroom, they will be redoing the floor in there, meaning they will take out the sink/toilet... so might as well get the wall tile redone at the same time.

i just hope that these little extra things don't cost too much extra cuz we don't have a ton of money, but i'd rather do it now, than have to pay someone to rip out the fixtures a second time.

so that's the big hub-bub at my house... now just gotta wait to see how much $$ we get and then get to fixing everything...

meh :P
7th-Jul-2009 04:03 pm - rockin' out
at my friend's BBQ this past weekend they had on Sirius satellite radio, and being i don't have that, i never listen to it... they had on the "Lithium" station which is basically like 90s grunge stuff... it was a decent station and they played a lot of songs i had forgotten about...

so today on the way to work i got out the old TOOL - Undertow CD. I forgot how good this is. I love angsty grunge rock sometimes. :)

Also listened to some sonic youth, korn, soundgarden... you know... keep the trend going... LOL
9th-Jul-2009 09:48 pm - music: ska-p...
Recently I felt I had nowhere near enough CDs, so I bought myself some new ones.

A former friend of whom I've now lost track recommended me two songs of this band about 5 or 6 years ago, and I've liked them ever since. And if you're a fan of ska punk, you'll like them too! They're probably the most leftist-oriented band I know, they address every problem you can imagine in their songs (racism, unemployment, exploitation, globalization, useless royals, animal rights, bullfights, cannabis, etc.), but they do it in a way that's just awesome, and their musical skills are superb.

Tracklists, previews, videos, etc. )

If you happen to want any of the songs on those CDs, just give me a nudge and I'll upload them for you. They're definitely worth it. I've been told that no party in Spain is complete without Ska-P songs, and I have no doubts at all about that. ;)

A new textures set! *waves*
I think it's about time that I post a new flowery set again. So here it is. :)
It contains altogether 24 large textures/scans, which I think are lovely on wallpapers and banners. But of course you can resized them and use them on icons too, if you want. Yeah, I hope you like them and also that they'll be useful to work with. (Oh and I know that I suck at making previews... *g*)

Birds flying high you know how I feel... )

Lost and Found (Small Deaths Remix). Doctor Who: Martha, Donna, Ten/Rose, Pg-13.
They've both seen the mark of her in different rooms, proof that the memory of her, like a ghost, still remains; but now they see how her things affect him.
The silence of the room is not friendly, but neither is it uncomfortable; it almost seems sad, and she wonders, a little, how she got to the point where even the absence of something could be touched with tragedy. A remix of [info]hippiebanana132's Lost and Found, for [info]chips_remixed.

9th-Jul-2009 01:17 am - Quote of the Week -- Ugly Betty
In some ways you’re pretty lucky. You opened your heart, you put yourself out there; you were ready to make that leap. I’m envious; I wish I knew what that felt like - to find someone who makes you wanna swim across the east river in January.”
